As a first year student, there are a few important tips you should be aware of to maximise your time at univeristy. This event will talk about important information to help you through first year. Come and meet other first year students and learn more about the society!

A two day event. Discover the corporate world and the various career opportunities available through a series of interactive workshops tailored for Capital W members.

Internship Applications Workshop
24 May (Week 12)

Learn valuable resume and interview tips for successfully applying for internships and getting your well heeled foot into that door.

Annual Dinner
27 June (after exams)

Meet representatives from sponsor companies in a social setting and learn invaluable tips from prominent guest speakers. Held at the Tea Room in the Queen Victoria Building, past guest speakers include Narelle Hooper (Editor, AFR Boss), Helen Trinca (Editor, Australian Weekend Magazine), Sandy Blackburn-Wright (Author of Pulitzer Prize winner Holding up the Sky), Judith Fergin (U.S. Consul General in Sydney) and Nicole McKenna (Director of the National Foundation for Australian Women).

Capital W has invited a special speaker in to introduce the basic etiquette required in a corporate environment. Spaces are limited so apply here quickly! If you have any other questions or want to talk to our friendly volunteers, come to the Quad near the Q Lounge and enjoy your chat with FREE lollies.

    Wednesday - Business Etiquette Workshop 2 + Prize Day
Put what you have learnt at the workshop into practice in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Also, go to our Facebook at 1:30pm and respond to the mystery question correctly and win the $50 ZARA voucher! More FREE lollies are available at our Q Lounge stall.

Business Etiquette Workshop
20th and 21st of September (Week 9)

Do you know how to do a proper handshake? Have you mastered the skill of holding a cup of water and finger food whilst someone reaches out for a handshake? This workshop will inform students about the appropriate mannerisms in various corporate situations.

Intro to Industry

5th of October (Week 11)

This event will provide you a quick insight into the different career paths your business degree can take you. If you are not sure about your majors or wondering about the what certain professions do, this event will help answer your questions.

Come to Quad1001 from 12PM-1PM and have your questions answered by our panel of speakers who have had some experience in different industries such as investment banking, management consulting and professional services firms.
