Meet the Team

What is your favourite weather?

My favourite weather would be on a warm spring or summer day, when it's lightly raining but the sun is shining and the blue skies can be seen above. It's called a 'fox's wedding' in Japanese and I think it feels very magical and surreal when it happens!

Being able to see women empower one another is something truly unique to women-oriented societies. It’s inspiring to see our team achieve extraordinary feats and to have them also support you at the same time.

What do you like about being part of a women - oriented society?

What do you like about being part of a women - oriented society?

That apart from professional development, Capital W bonds women with the common goal of building each other. It is a support network that encourages collective development.

Languages! I have tried multiple times in the past to learn various languages but I just never seem to be able to pick it up! Being able to learn a language or two at the snap of my fingers seems like a pretty sweet dream.

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?

Where is your dream destinaton?

I would love to visit France! A few years ago I visited Paris but fell ill and sadly remained in my hotel room the whole time. If I had the opportunity to visit again, I would love to visit as many museums and art galleries as possible!

I would love to get into dancing and it seems like a great hobby to do with friends. Not only does it look like a fun way to socialise and stay fit but I’ve always admired how dancers can remember all the movements and make themselves look so fluid.

What is one hobby you would love to get into?

One thing most people don't know about me is that I love country music and it's pretty much all I listen to. Most of my friends have described this as "off brand".

How has Capital W helped you to develop as a woman in business?

Being a part of Capital W has helped develop my confidence in the workplace, and made me realise that it is so important for females to have role models and representation in the corporate world. Having had experience working in a workplace that is 80% male, I am constantly striving to support other women so that we can achieve gender parity.

Capital W has taught me the importance of collective effort. We as women are stronger together and able to achieve greater outcomes when advocating for equality.

How would you like the make the world a better place?

Recognising the power and influence of words and actions, I would like to make the world a better place through my interactions with people. I always try to treat others with kindness and fairness and think about how I can impact others in a meaningful way.

I aspired to become an entrepreneur. I originally wanted to lead a toy company. Then, I wanted to become a scientist-entrepreneur who specialised in medicine (I made “healing potions” out of random skincare products in my bathroom) and robotics (I made “robots” out of cardboard boxes).

What was your career aspiration as a child?

What are some bucket list items you have?

I would love to try hot air ballooning over Cappadocia, Turkey and scuba diving in Red Sea, Egypt! The iconic hot air balloon landscape would be absolutely breathtaking to see in person and I want to see the stunning reefs in Egypt.

What was your career aspiration as a child?

I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to help other people, and motivate students. Now I’m passionate about working in business, but I would still like to be an individual who inspires other people, and help the people around me achieve their own personal successes.

I would have definitely considered myself an early bird prior to this quarantine as early morning always make me feel refreshed and energised. Although after multiple months of watching The Vampire Diaries past 12 am is slowly pushing me to the other side!

Are you an early bird or night owl?

What’s the best advice you were ever given?

The best advice I was given is to never stop learning. Knowledge is wisdom and the more we learn, the more we are able to live our lives to the fullest.

New York! I’d love to live there some day in the houses with fire stairs. The fast-paced environment is exhilarating, and it feels amazing standing in Time Square at night as people walk past. It really lives up to the City That Never Sleeps.

This year I've picked up graphic design and it's been super rewarding becoming more fluent in using Photoshop and Illustrator. Definitely still have a long way to go in terms of skills but I am excited to take on more creative projects and experiment with different techniques!

What is one thing you're learning right now?

Italy! And either Milan or Rome if I had to narrow it down- maybe even Venice or Sicily. Art and fashion have always been my passion and I love travelling in historical locations of significant cultural influence.

Where is your dream destinaton?

Lindy Ung.jpg

I would definitely take a trip with friends around Australia or other countries like Korea and England. I especially enjoy being surrounded by nature, the city at night and beautiful architecture, and having friends along would make it that much more adventurous and fun!

What's your dream activity to do with friends?

Who is your inspiration?

My inspiration is the people I surround myself with. I am constantly amazed at what my friends achieve! They inspire me to work harder, have fun and strive to be a better person. I guess I am inspired by ordinary people doing the best they can! 😊

What is one thing you're learning right now?

In my spare time, I love to play team sports and have been playing for UNSW's womens hockey team since I was 13. However, I have recently been looking for a new challenge and decided to try AFL at a local club. Only a few minor injuries so far but I am loving it!

How would you like the make the world a better place?

Mahatma Ghandi’s wise words, “Be the change you wish to see in the world” have inspired me ever since I was young. I would love to start my own charity one day, providing education and opportunities to girls in countries like Cambodia that I’ve had the experience of teaching in.

Dance!! I used to dance quite a bit when I was in primary school and would love to get back into it! Not too sure which style I would go for again but definitely open to taking lessons again with friends :)

What is one hobby you would love to get into?

I’ve always loved history and learning about the cultures, people and events that have shaped our world today. The stories of the past, whether tragic, magnificent or both, have taught me to appreciate what we have achieved and have given me hope for the legacy that we leave behind.

I would love to travel around the world and explore the hidden streets! Going on ‘mini adventures,’ where we’d just spend the day walking around and discovering small things in new places and trying local food (if there's good music and dancing that’d definitely be a bonus!).

What's your dream activity to do with friends?

What is your favourite weather?

Below zero degrees. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely love the snow! I ski as often as I can and enjoy winter more than summer. I hope to live in city where it snows yearly in the future.
